Home Invasion Shooting Incident

The Calgary Police Service Robbery Unit continues to investigate a home invasion incident that occurred last night, leaving one man with gunshot wounds.

Just after 11 p.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016, a man, armed with a handgun, broke into a home in the 0-100 block of Fonda Mews S.E. and confronted two men and a woman who were inside the home. The suspect stole personal property before attempting to flee, however, one of the man grabbed the suspect and a struggle ensued. The victim was shot during the confrontation and the suspect fled the home.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital in stable condition.

Investigators believe this was a targeted incident and are looking for public assistance in identifying the suspect. He is described as a darker-skinned man, 5'7" tall, approximately 140 pounds, between 25 and 30 years old and had a thin moustache. He was wearing a grey baseball hat, grey hoodie and sweats.
