Fire Crews Respond To 2 Alarm Fire In Tuxedo

At approximately 1130 pm this evening, Calgary Fire Department crews responded to reports of a house fire in the 100 block of 25 Avenue NE.

Upon arrival, crews were faced with a significant amount of smoke and flame showing from the inside as well as the exterior of a single story family home. A 2nd alarm was immediately struck in order to ensure adequate resources on scene. Crews initiated an aggressive interior attack and quickly knocked down the main body of the fire.

One fire victim who was deceased was located during an initial search of the structure.

One patient was treated on scene by AHS for smoke inhalation and released.

Crews are remaining on scene to check for extension and confirm extinguishment of the fire.

The scene is under investigation by a Fire Investigator and the CPS Arson Unit to determine the cause.
