Find your perfect "fit" in the new City of Calgary Fall Recreation Program Guide

Calgary – Starting August 6, the Fall Recreation Program Guide is available online and on stands across Calgary. With more than 3,000 registered programs and 6,500 drop-in opportunities, The City of Calgary Recreation has many possibilities to keep your mind and body healthy and active.

“With so many different programs we have something for everyone and every year we continue to add new programs to help ensure this,” said Heather Wicksted, programs and services coordinator in Recreation. “With registration opening up on August 11, it’s time to plan how you and your family will get out and play and make the most of the fall season.”

Every year, the guide is filled with great opportunities for families to be active and help stay healthy. Calgarians can sign up for art classes, check out skating and shinny hockey drop-in schedules or sign up for an exclusive youth night for teens 12 to 15 years old.

“Healthy communities are built on healthy families, and Recreation is here to help provide opportunities to all Calgarians to stay healthy and active,” said Wicksted. “Making activity a part of your everyday routine will strengthen your body, improve your mindset and strengthen your community connections.”

With the online My Rec Guide, registration has never been easier. You can build your own customized guide based on your interests, location and age and it can be translated into 71 different languages.

Recreation is more than you think, so get active, get creative and have some fun with City of Calgary Recreation. Pick up a Fall Recreation Program Guide at any of the City of Calgary Recreation facilities or online at calgary.ca/recreation.
