Easter 2015 Hours of Operation for City of Calgary Facilities

The City of Calgary is adjusting its hours of operation for certain services and facilities for the Easter weekend, from Friday, April 3 to Monday, April 6, 2015.

Calgary Transit
Calgary Transit will provide a Sunday level of service on Good Friday, April 3, 2015 and Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015. Please check the schedules page to find out when your bus is running.

CTrain Service Disruption: Friday, April 3 to Sunday, April 5
Affected stations: City Hall, Bridgeland/Memorial, Victoria Park/Stampede, Erlton/Stampede and 39 Avenue
This closure is to accommodate construction related to the new Central Library in the East Village.

Leisure Centres (Regular admission applies):
Southland Leisure Centre will be open on Friday, April 3 from  11 a.m.– 5 p.m., and closed on Sunday, April 5. The facility will return to regular hours of 5:30 a.m. – 10 p.m. on Monday, April 6.

Village Square Leisure Centre will be open on Friday, April 3 and on Sunday, April 5 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. The facility will return hours of 6 a.m. – 10 p.m. on Monday, April 6.

Aquatics and Fitness Centres
All aquatic and fitness centres will be closed on Friday, April 3.

On Sunday, April 5, the following aquatics and fitness centres will have free swimming from 1-2:30 p.m. and 3-4:30 p.m. (half hour break will be waived if capacity permits):

All other aquatics and fitness centres will be closed on Sunday, April 5. 

Arenas
​All arenas will be closed for both Friday, April 3 and Sunday, April 5, except for any advanced bookings.

Art Centres
The North Mount Pleasant and Wildflower Arts Centres will be closed for both Friday, April 3 and Sunday, April 5.

Calgary Soccer Centre
The Calgary Soccer Centre will be closed Friday, April 3 through Sunday, April 5, inclusive.

Animal Services Centre

The Animal Services Centre will be closed on Good Friday, April 3, 2015 and Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015
Regular Hours:
Monday to Friday: open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Residential Waste & Recycling Collection
Residential waste & recycling collection is not affected by the Good Friday holiday.

Landfills
Starting April 1, Spyhill, Shepard and East Calgary Landfill are open 7 days a week from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours of operation are not affected by the Good Friday or Easter Sunday holidays.

Administrative Offices
City of Calgary administrative offices will be closed on Friday, April 3, 2015 and will reopen on Monday, April 6, 2015.

Calgary Parking Authority
No payment is required for on-street parking on April 3 and April 6, 2015.

Holiday rates are in effect for all Calgary Parking Authority surface lots and parkades, with the exception of the Calgary Zoo and TELUS Spark, where regular rates will be in effect.
The Calgary Parking Authority office will be closed on April 3 and April 6.

City of Calgary Parks
Inglewood Bird Sanctuary
The Nature Centre is closed Mondays and statutory holidays including Good Friday and Easter Sunday. It is open regular hours on Saturday from noon - 4 p.m.
The sanctuary trails will remain closed throughout 2015. 

Devonian Gardens
Devonian Gardens will be open 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. on Good Friday and closed Easter Sunday.

Fort Calgary
Open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily

Calgary Zoo
Gates open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Zoo Grounds close at 6 p.m.
Note the West Gate has reopened as of April 1, 2015
Easter Eggstravaganza event April 3 and 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Heritage Park
Gasoline Alley Museum open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
The Historical Village is closed for the season until May 16, 2015

TELUS Spark
April 3 and 4, 2015: Extended hours 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
April 5, 2015: Regular hours 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
