Deceased identified in domestic homicide

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has identified the victim of the domestic homicide for which charges were laid earlier the week.

Early on Monday, July 17, 2017, human remains were found at a construction site in Okotoks, Alta. On Wednesday, July 19, 2017, the Calgary Police Service charged 21-year-old Zaineddin AL AALAK with second-degree murder and committing an indignity to a body in connection with the discovered remains.

The victim in the case has now been identified as Mohamed Jasim AL AALAK, 53, of Calgary.
