Crime Stoppers re-enacting Thorncliffe home invasion

Crime Stoppers is re-enacting a home invasion that occurred in the community of Thorncliffe late last year, in order to encourage anyone with information on the incident to come forward.

At approximately 5 a.m., on Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, two men forced their way into a home located in the 6100 block of Buckthorn Road N.W. The men demanded money and jewelry from the elderly couple living inside, assaulted the residents and then fled the home.

Both occupants, a man and woman in their 70s, were transported to hospital in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

During the incident, the suspects specifically targeted items which have led police to believe the attack was not random.

Police are looking for two suspects. The first man is described as Caucasian, in his late 20s, 6’2” tall with a slim build. He was wearing a blue and white bandana across his face during the home invasion.

The second man is described as Caucasian, in his early 20s, 5’10” tall with a medium build. He was also wearing a bandana over his face.

Police are hoping that the re-enactment will help people remember any information they have about this incident or the suspects. The re-enactment was filmed on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at 9:30 a.m., at a residence in Edgemont.

Anyone with information about this incident, or the identity of the suspects, is asked to contact the Calgary Police Service Robbery Unit at 403-428-8787 or Crime Stoppers anonymously using any of the following methods:
