Cocaine Trafficking Investigation

The Calgary Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit has charged a man in relation to a cocaine trafficking investigation.

On Wednesday, April 27, 2016, three search warrants were executed in relation to this investigation. Two of the search warrants were on related vehicles and the third was executed at an apartment in the 1000 block of 6 Avenue S.W.

This investigation was aimed at stopping an active drug-trafficking cell operating within Calgary.

As a result of the execution of the search warrants, 22 packaged bundles of cocaine equaling 16.8 grams of cocaine worth $900, along with small amounts of OxyContin and marijuana were seized. Officers also seized $19,305 cash as proceeds of crime.

Travis HUYNH, 23, of Calgary, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of marijuana and proceeds of crime. He will next appear in court on Friday, April 29, 2016.
