City Services: Family Day 2016

We're adjusting our hours of operation for the Family Day holiday on Monday, Feb. 15. Here's a complete list of what you need to know:

Getting Around:

Calgary Transit
Calgary Transit will provide a Sunday level of service on Family Day, Monday, Feb. 15. Please check the schedules page to find out when your bus is running.

Parking
All on-street parking is free and Holiday rates will in effect at select Calgary Parking Authority surface lots and parkades.

Things to do:

Free public swimming from 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. and from 3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.​on Family Day at the following Aquatics & Fitness Centres:

*Note the 30 minute break between free swim times will be waived if capacity permits.

All other aquatics and fitness centres will be closed on Monday, Feb 15.

Village Square Leisure Centre
Family Day Hours: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Regular admission applies.

Southland Leisure Centre
Family Day Hours: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Regular admission applies. 

Valentine's Crafts & Cookies – Free event
Celebrate family month and Valentine’s Day at Southland Leisure Centre. Make crafts with family and friends and enjoy some light refreshments.

Wednesday, Feb. 10 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

The following Arenas are offering Free Public Skating from 1 - 2:30 p.m. on Family Day:

All other arenas will be closed on Monday, Feb 15, except for any advanced bookings.

Parks: We are Family events

Celebrate the Family Day weekend in nature! Join us for fresh air, ice skating (weather permitting) and nature activities. If you prefer an indoor celebration, drop by Calgary’s downtown garden oasis for some free, family-friendly fun, including games, crafts and animal furs and bones you can see and touch.

Facility Closures

The following facilities will be closed on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016:
The Calgary Soccer Centre
Spyhill and Shepard Landfills
Wildflower Arts Centre
North Mount Pleasant Arts Centre and will close at 6 p.m., Friday, Feb. 12 and remain closed throughout the long weekend.
The Nature Centre at Inglewood Bird Sanctuary
The Animal Services Centre
All City of Calgary Administrative buildings including City Hall
