City of Calgary responds to provincial easing of some health measures

The Government of Alberta today announced a phased plan to loosen some health measures that were in place to slow the spread of COVID-19, dependent on hospitalization measures and other triggers.

We are currently working through the Provincial public health phased plans to understand their impacts on our own operations, services and facilities. The City will be working closely with The Province on what is needed at the local level, including continued enforcement of existing Public Health Orders. More information on specific programs and services will be updated on Calgary.ca/covid19 as it becomes available.

In the meantime, existing restrictions remain in effect, which can be found at www.alberta.ca/covid19. The City acknowledges how difficult restrictions have been for individuals, families, businesses, and the mental and economic health of our city and we thank all Calgarians and businesses for their efforts to follow Provincial health orders. We encourage Calgarians to continue to adhere to all public health guidance as we work together to reduce the threat to our health and our health care system.
