Charges laid in Valeri LOMAKINE homicide

The Calgary Police Service has laid charges in a homicide that occurred in the community of Manchester Industrial earlier this month.

At approximately 10 a.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, police were called to check on the welfare of a man in the 5700 block of 2 Street S.W. The man was found suffering from stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was later identified as Valeri LOMAKINE, 37, of Calgary.

The evening of Thursday, Sept. 28, investigators arrested and charged a man in connection with this death.

Michael Jordan HOPE, 27, of Calgary, is charged with one count of second-degree murder. His next court appearance will be on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017.
