Charges laid in multiple grocery store robberies

The Calgary Police Service has charged a man in relation to a series of grocery store robberies that took place between Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, and Friday, Feb. 5, 2016.

Upon review of CCTV footage, it was determined that the same offender was responsible for the robberies that occurred:

  • On Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, at the Montgomery Safeway, located at 5048 16 Ave. N.W.;
  • On Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at the Brentwood Co-op, located at 4122 Brentwood Rd. N.W.;
  • On Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at the Westhills Safeway, located at 200 Stewart Gr. S.W.; and
  • On Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, at the 7-Eleven, located at 4444 16 Ave. N.W.

Douglas Kenneth IRVINE, 52, of Calgary, has been charged with four counts of robbery, along with other unrelated outstanding warrants.
