Charges laid in Kingsland fatal assault

The Calgary Police Service has charged a man in relation to a homicide in Kingsland at the end of October.

At approximately 8:20 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, officers responded to a report of a serious assault in the 700 block of 67 Avenue S.W., that left one man dead. The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Jordan Gregory FRYDENLUND.

At the beginning of November, police requested public assistance to locate Jonathan Sylvanus Francis SYLVESTER, 40, who was believed to have information into the death of FRYDENLUND.

We have also identified and located the woman whose picture was released and she is not considered a suspect.

On Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, SYLVESTER was arrested in Toronto, ON, and later charged with second-degree murder.
