Calgary Transit customer service centre extending hours for Low Income Transit Pass customers

Starting in March, the Province is making changes to the payment dates for its AISH (Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped) and Income Support programs. This is not the City’s decision, but we are committed to making the transition as easy as possible for the citizens we serve – particularly for those who rely on the Low Income Transit Pass.

In particular, we understand that this may cause difficulties for our customers in planning when and how to buy their monthly pass, before their previous pass expires. To help ease the transition in payment dates, for this month only, Calgary Transit will be opening the Centre Street Platform location of our Customer Service Centre (125 7 Ave S.E.) for an additional two days:

Saturday, February 29 and Sunday, March 1

8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Customers can also visit our Southland or Village Square Leisure Centre locations during their usual hours on February 29 and March 1.

To avoid long lineups on the first day of following months, there are various earlier purchase options available online and in person. Information can be found at calgarytransit.com.

We are proud to be able to offer the Low Income Transit Pass for vulnerable Calgarians.

For any questions or concerns about the provincial AISH or Income Support payments, customers should contact their caseworker, the nearest Alberta Supports Centre or the Alberta Supports Contact Centre at 1-877-644-9992. They can also call 2-1-1 24 hours a day, seven days a week for free, confidential support in more than 150 languages, and to access community and social services.
