Unplanned closures

Various single lane closures at Sarcee Trail and Glenmore Trail S.W. due to an ongoing utility repair being conducted by Alberta Transportation. Motorists can expect delays in the area and are advised to use alternate routes.

Northeast

Various single lane closures on Country Hills Boulevard N.E. between Deerfoot Trail and Barlow Trail N.E. daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This closure continues daily during these hours, and also on weekends from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. through April 2 and accommodates construction work.

Northwest

Stoney Trail/ Sarcee Trail Interchange Improvements

  • Daily lane reductions on Sarcee Trail N.W. and 16 Avenue N.W. through the project limits from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until further notice.
  • The right lane of westbound 16 Avenue N.W. is closed at Sarcee Trail N.W. daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning on Thursday, March 2. This closure repeats daily on weekdays until late April 2017.

Southeast

NEW: 4 Street S.E. is closed between 53 Avenue and 58 Avenue S.E. beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, March 30. This closure remains in place until 7 p.m. on Friday, March 31 and accommodates water services utility work.

Update: 39 Avenue S.E. is closed between Macleod Trail and Burnsland Road S.E. through 12 p.m. on Thursday, March 30. This closure accommodates water services utility work.

Reduced lanes at 52 Street and 17 Avenue S.E. daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning on Monday, March 27. Motorists are advised to expect delays in the area, and use alternate routes when possible. This closure repeats daily during these hours until 3 p.m. on Friday, March 31 and accommodates utility work.

Glenmore Trail / Ogden Interchange

  • The Shepard Road access south of Glenmore is closed. There will be a new access created at 24 Street S.E. south of Glenmore Trail, west of the existing Shepard Road alignment. Traffic requiring to access Shepard Road south of Glenmore Trial will be detoured via the new 24 Street S.E. exit and then along 86 Avenue S.E. to reconnect with Shepard Road.

Macleod Trail / 162 Avenue construction project

  • There will be various single lane closures on northbound Macleod Trail S.E. at 162 Avenue S.E. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and southbound Macleod Trail S.E. from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily (Mon-Fri) through Friday, March 31.
  • There will be various multiple lane closures on northbound and southbound Macleod Trail S.E. at 162 Avenue S.E. from 9 pm to 5 am nightly (Mon-Thu) through the evening of Thursday, March 30.
  • ‎Southbound Macleod Trail will be closed between Midlake Boulevard S.E and 162 Avenue S.E. from 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, March 23 until 5 a.m. on Friday, March 24. Traffic will be detoured southbound on Shawville Boulevard to bypass the closure. This closure will be repeated the evening of Monday, March 27.
  • ‎Eastbound and westbound 162 Avenue S.E. / Sun Valley Boulevard at Macleod Trail S will be closed from 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, March 30 to 5 a.m. Friday, March 31. Traffic will be detoured to Midlake Boulevard to bypass the closure.

Southwest

Riverfront Avenue S.W. will be closed between 1 Street and 2 Street S.W. beginning at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 29. During this closure, local only access will be maintained. This closure remains in place until 3 p.m. on Friday, April 7 and accommodates utility work. Use alternate routes.

The left lane and adjacent cycle track will be closed on 12 Avenue S.W. from 2 Street to 4 Street S.W. daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning on Monday, March 27. During this closure, cycle track traffic will be detoured into the closed traffic lane. This closure repeats daily during these hours until 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 30 and accommodates utility work.

The two right lanes of 6 Avenue S.W. are closed between 8 Street S.W. and 9 Street S.W. from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on weekdays beginning on Thursday, March 9. This closure continues daily on weekdays during these hours, and also on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. This closure accommodates utility work and continues until further notice.

17 Avenue S. reconstruction project

  • NEW: 6 Street S.W. is closed at 17 Avenue S.W. from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 30. During this closure, westbound 17 Avenue S.W. will also be reduced to a single lane at 6 Street S.W.
  • 17 Avenue S.W. is reduced to a single lane in each direction between 7 Street and 8 Street S.W. beginning at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1. This closure remains in place until 7 p.m. on Friday, March 31.
