Reduced lanes eastbound on 16 Avenue N.W. between Bowfort Road N.W. and Sarcee Trail N.W. from Tuesday, July 4 to Friday, July 14 weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Speeds will be reduced to 50 km/h through the work area. Closure is to accommodate construction.

Reduced lanes in both directions of Hidden Creek Drive N.W. at Beddington Trail N.W. daily from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays beginning on Friday, June 30. This closure also occurs from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends, and continues daily during these hours until 3 p.m. on Friday, July 14. This closure accommodates intersection improvements.

Reduced lanes on westbound 16 Avenue N.W. west of 14 Street N.W. daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. During this closure, the speed limit will be reduced to 50 km/hr. through the construction zone. This closure continues daily during these hours until 3 p.m. on Monday, July 17. Closure is to accommodate construction.

16 Avenue NW / Home Road project

• Reduced lane on westbound 16 Avenue N.W. between 49 Street N.W. and 46 Street N.W. beginning on Monday, June 19 to Saturday, July 15 weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Business access is to be maintained. Closure is to accommodate construction.
• Reduced lanes eastbound on 16 Avenue N.W. at 29 Street N.W. / Uxbridge Drive N.W. beginning on Monday, April 17 to Friday, July 21 weekdays from 9 A.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Note – there will not be a set up on Saturday, July 1 only). Speeds will be reduced to 50 km/h through the work area. Closure is to accommodate construction.

16 Avenue N.W. at 29 Street N.W. / Uxbridge Drive N.W. will see various lane closures until the end of October, 2017 as part of an intersection improvement project.

16 Ave NW / Bowfort Road Interchange Improvements

• Reduced lanes westbound on 16 Avenue N.W. between Sarcee Trail N.W. and Bowfort Road N.W. from Wednesday, July 5 to Monday, July 10 daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Speeds will be reduced to 50 km/h through the work area. Closure is to accommodate construction.

• Various reduced lanes westbound on 16 Avenue N.W. between Bowfort Road N.W. and Stoney Trail N.W. beginning on Wednesday, July 5 to Friday, July 7 daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Closures may go beyond 3 p.m. on last day to complete work. Speeds will be reduced to 50 km/h through the work area. Closure is to accommodate paving in preparation of new road opening.

NEW: Road closure on 17 Avenue S.E. between 45 Street S.E. and 47 Street S.E. beginning on Friday, July 7 at 7 p.m. to Monday, July 10 at 5 a.m. There will be access to local traffic only. Vehicle detours will be indicated via signage. Closure is to accommodate construction.

NEW: There will be various lane closures with the speed limit reduced to 50 km/h on northbound and southbound Macleod Trail S.E. between 194 Avenue S.E. and 210 Avenue S.E. daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 8 and Sunday, July 9.

NEW: Reduced lanes northbound and southbound on Ogden Road S.E. between 78 Avenue S.E. and 80 Avenue S.E. beginning on Saturday, July 8 at 6 a.m. to Sunday, July 9 at 7 p.m. Closure is to accommodate utility work.

There will be various lane closures with the speed limit reduced to 50 km/h on northbound and southbound Macleod Trail S.E. between 194 Avenue S.E. and 210 Avenue S.E. daily from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. beginning on Tuesday, July 4 to Thursday, July 7.

Reduced lane northbound on 52 Street S.E. between 130 Avenue S.E. to 300 meters north of 126 Avenue S.E. beginning on Friday, June 30 to Friday, July 7 (excluding Monday, July 3) daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Speeds will be reduced through the construction zone. Closure is to accommodate utility work.

Glenmore Trail / Ogden Interchange

• NEW: The left lane will be closed on westbound Glenmore Trail S.E. at Barlow Trail S.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, July 7 to allow for road work.
• NEW: The two right lanes will be closed on eastbound Glenmore Trail S.E. at Barlow Trail S.E. from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 8 to allow for road work. Eastbound traffic will be put into the right lane of dual left turn bay to continue eastbound through intersection. Glenmore Trail S.E. is already part of a construction zone with a reduced speed limit of 50 km/h that will remain in effect 24/7 for duration of interchange construction. Use of an alternate eastbound route is recommended as delays are expected.

Macleod Trail / 162 Avenue Interchange Project

• NEW: The exit ramp from southbound Macleod Trail S.E. to 162 Avenue S.E. / Sun Valley Boulevard S.E. will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, July 7 to 5 a.m. Saturday, July 8. Traffic will be directed to use either the Midlake Boulevard S.E. exit or the 22X (Spruce Meadows Trail S.E.) exit as a detour.
• Reduced lanes on Sun Valley Boulevard S.E. at Macleod Trail S.E. daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5 to Friday, July 7.

210 Avenue S.E. between Sheriff King Street and MacLeod Trail S.E. will be closed until Monday, July 31. This closure accommodates utility work. Please use alternate routes.

Southbound 3 Street S.E. between 6 Avenue and 8 Avenue S.E. will be closed until early July. Access to Lot 47 will be available at all times and can only be accessed from 9 Avenue S.E. Please use alternate routes and expect delays. This closure accommodates the 3 Street corridor improvement project.

Southwest

17 Avenue S. reconstruction project

• 17 Avenue will be closed to traffic between Macleod Trail and Centre Street starting May 19.

Special Events

Stampede Parade - Friday July 7

Beginning at 7:30 a.m., Friday, July 7, the following roadways will be closed for the 2017 Calgary Stampede Parade:

• Westbound 6 Avenue from 3 Street S.E. to 10 Street S.W.
• 10 Street S.W. from 6 Avenue S.W. to 9 Avenue S.W.
• Eastbound 9 Avenue from 10 Street S.W. to 3 Street S.E.
• The morning connector from Bow Trail to westbound 5 Avenue S.W. will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. only.

All roadways are expected to reopen by approximately 2 p.m.

Alternate routes into downtown

• Eastbound traffic on 9 Avenue will be directed to 11 Street S.W.
• Motorists are advised to use 5 Avenue or 12 Avenue to bypass the closures.
• Motorists are encouraged to use Blackfoot Trail, Stoney Trail, Crowchild Trail, 16 Avenue, and Deerfoot Trail as alternate routes into downtown.

• The parade will travel north with a CPS escort and tail end on Bowness Road N.W. with marshals at each intersection.
