Calgary road closures – August 8, 2017

Northeast

Reduced lanes northbound and southbound on Barlow Trail N.E. between Country Hills Boulevard N.E. and 116 Avenue N.E. beginning on Tuesday, August 8 at 7 a.m. to Tuesday, August 15 at 7 p.m. Closure is to accommodate utility work.

Reduced lane eastbound on Memorial Drive N.E. between 9 Street N.E. and 12 Street N.E. beginning on Tuesday, August 8 to Friday, August 11 daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Speeds will be reduced to 60 km/h through the work area. A flagman will be on site to direct traffic. Closure is to accommodate construction.

Reduced lanes eastbound and westbound on 16 Avenue N.E. at Moncton Road N.E. / Russet Road N.E. beginning on Thursday, August 3 to Thursday, August 10 (excluding Monday, August 7) daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be restricted parking on Moncton Road N.E. / Russet Road N.E. Closure is to accommodate utility work.

Various reduced lanes eastbound and westbound on 64 Avenue N.E. at 68 Street N.E. with reduced northbound/southbound lanes on 68 Street N.E. at this intersection. Work to begin on Wednesday, July 26 to Thursday, August 10 daily from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Closures are to accommodate utility work for new signal installation.

Reduced lanes eastbound 16 Avenue at Edmonton Trail N.E. weekdays starting Thursday, July 13 until Friday, August 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This work accommodates construction.

Reduced lane northbound on 52 Street N.E. at Whitehorn Drive N.E. / Temple Drive N.E. beginning on Monday, July 10 to Friday, September 1 on weekdays only daily from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Pedestrian detour will be indicated via signage. Closure is to accommodate construction.

Reduced lanes northbound and southbound on Falconridge Boulevard N.E. at Taradale Drive N.E./Martindale Boulevard N.E. beginning on Tuesday, July 4 to Friday, September 1 (subject to change) on weekdays only from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Pedestrian detours will be indicated via signage. Closure is to accommodate construction.

Reduced lane northbound on 52 Street N.E. at Temple Drive N.E. / 44 Avenue N.E. beginning on Tuesday, July 4 to Wednesday, August 30 (subject to change) on weekdays only from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Closure is to accommodate construction.

Reduced northbound and southbound lanes on Falconridge Boulevard N.E. at Taradale Drive N.E. weekdays only from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 P.M. beginning on Tuesday, June 27 to Thursday, September 7. Pedestrian detour indicated via signage. This closure is to accommodate transit construction work.

Northwest

UPDATE: Reduced southbound lane on 29 Street N.W. between Parkdale Lane N.W. and Parkdale Boulevard N.W. beginning on Wednesday, August 2 to Wednesday, August 9 (excluding Monday, August 7) daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pedestrian and cycle track detours will be indicated via signage. Closure is to accommodate construction.

16 Avenue N.W. at 29 Street N.W. / Uxbridge Drive N.W. will see various lane closures until the end of October, 2017 as part of an intersection improvement project.

16 Ave NW / Bowfort Road Interchange Improvements

  • Daily lane reductions on Bowfort Road N.W. and 16 Avenue N.W. through the project limits from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until further notice. For more information on this project, visit the project page.

Stoney Trail/ Sarcee Trail Interchange Improvements

  • Daily lane reductions on Sarcee Trail N.W. and 16 Avenue N.W. through the project limits from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until further notice. For more information on this project, visit the project page.

Southeast

NEW: Reduced lane eastbound on 17 Avenue S.E. between Deerfoot Trail S.E. and 26 Street S.E. on Wednesday, August 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Speed will be reduced to 50 km/h through the work area. Closure is to accommodate construction.

Reduced lane westbound on McKenzie Lake Boulevard S.E. from Mt. McKenzie Way S.E. to Mountain Park Circle S.E./Mckenzie Lake Gate S.E. beginning on Tuesday, August 8 to Friday, August 11 daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Speeds will be reduced to 50 km/h through the work area. Pedestrian detour will be indicated via signage. Closure is to accommodate utility work.

Reduced lane southbound on 18 Street S.E. between Douglas Glen Boulevard S.E. and 24 Street S.E. beginning on Thursday, August 3 to Monday, September 18 weekdays daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Speeds will be reduced to 50 km/h through the work area. Closure is to accommodate construction.

Road closure southbound on 3 Street S.E. between 6 Avenue S.E. and 7 Avenue S.E. with reduced northbound lanes beginning on Tuesday, June 20 at 12:00 a.m. until Friday, September 1 at 6 p.m. Vehicle and pedestrian detours indicated via signage. This closure accommodates construction.

17 Ave S.E. BRT Project

Southwest

NEW: Reduced lanes on 6 Street S.W. between 4 Avenue S.W. and 5 Avenue S.W. beginning on Wednesday, August 9 to Wednesday, August 16 weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Restricted parking will be in place through the work area. Closure is to accommodate utility work.

Reduced lane southbound on 8 Street S.W. between 15 Avenue S.W. and 17 Avenue S.W. beginning on Wednesday, August 2 to Saturday, August 12 daily weekdays and Saturdays only from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This closure accommodates construction work.

Road closure on 17 Avenue S.W. between 1 Street S.E. and 2 Street S.E. with closure on 1 Street S.W. between 15 Avenue S.W. and 17 Avenue S.W. beginning on Saturday, August 5 at 7 a.m. to Sunday, October 1 at 7 p.m. Restricted parking will also be in place on 17 Avenue S.E. with vehicle detours indicated via signage. Closures are to accommodate construction.

Road closed southbound on 10 Street S.W. between 4 Avenue S.W. and 5 Avenue S.W. beginning on Tuesday, August 8 to Friday, August 18 weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. (excluding Sundays). Vehicle detour will be indicated via signage. Closure is to accommodate sidewalk installation.

Reduced lanes northbound on 11 Street S.W. between 7 Avenue S.W. and 8 Avenue S.W. beginning on Wednesday, August 2 at 9 a.m. to Monday, August 14 at 4 p.m. This closure accommodates utility work.

17 Avenue S. reconstruction project

  • Road closure on 17 Avenue S.E. between 1 Street S.E. and Macleod Trail S.E. beginning on Monday, July 17 at 7 a.m. to Tuesday, August 22 at 7 p.m. Access will be open to local traffic only. Vehicle detours will be indicated via signage.
  • Road closure on 17 Avenue S.E. between Centre Street S.E. and 1 Street S.E. beginning on Monday, July 17 at 7 a.m. to Monday, August 28 at 7 p.m. Access will be open to local traffic only. Vehicle detours will be indicated via signage.
  • Road closure on 17 Avenue S.E. between 1 Street S.W. and Centre Street S.E. beginning on Monday, July 17 at 7 a.m. to Sunday, October 1 at 7 p.m. Access will be open to local traffic only. Vehicle detours will be indicated via signage.
  • 17 Avenue will be closed to traffic between Macleod Trail and Centre Street starting May 19.

Southwest Ring Road Project
