Calgary road closures - August 18, 2014

Northeast

NEW: 22 Avenue N.E. will be closed between Centre Street and 1 Street N.E. from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19 due to concrete work.

Southbound Falconridge Boulevard N.E. will be closed south of Saddletowne Circle from 7 a.m. on Sunday, August 17 to 6 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19 due to utility work. At this time two way traffic will be allowed in the northbound lanes.

There will be various lane closures on 36 Street N.E. between 16 Avenue N.E. and 32 Avenue N.E. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily beginning Friday, August 1 until Tuesday, September 5 due to curb rehabilitation and paving.

The intersection of Skyview Ranch Road and 128 Avenue N.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction starting Monday, July 28 until September 30 for utility work.

17 Avenue N.E. and 18 Avenue N.E. are closed at Edmonton Trail until late August due to the Edmonton Trail road reconstruction project.

Northwest

Northbound Crowchild Trail will be reduced to one lane at University Drive N.W. from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly until Sunday, August 31 due to bridge deck repairs.

The right lanes on north and southbound Northland Drive N.W. will be closed throughout the summer due to bike lane improvements and road repaving.

Symons Valley Road is completely closed between 144 Avenue N.W. and Sage Meadow Circle. This closure is expected to last until December 2014. During this time, all heavy truck traffic will be detoured to Shaganappi Trail, and local traffic will be detoured via Sage Hill Drive to 144 Avenue N.W. Visit the webpage for  further information.

Southeast

NEW: Eastbound Glenmore Trail will be reduced to one lane between 52 Street S.E. and Stoney Trail from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly on Monday, August 18 and Tuesday, August 19 due to paving. At this time speed will be reduced to 50 km/h.

Ogden Road S.E. will be reduced to one lane in each direction at 80 Avenue S.E. from 8 a.m. on Monday, August 18 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19 due to utility work.

There will be various lane closures on Cushing Bridge (17 Avenue S.E. between 19 Street S.E. and Deerfoot Trail) from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly beginning Tuesday, August 5 until Friday, August 22 due to bridge rehabilitation work. At this time speed in the area will be reduced to 50 km/h.

Glenmore Trail will be reduced to two lanes in each direction east of Blackfoot Trail from 9 p.m. on Friday, August 8 to 5 a.m. on Monday, August 18 for road construction. At this time speed will be reduced to 60 km/h.

The two centre lanes will be closed on 5 Avenue at Centre Street until Sunday, August 17 due to utility work. At this time the crosswalk on the west side of Centre Street will be closed.

There will be various lane closures on 6 Avenue between 1 Street S.E. and Centre Street and on Centre Street at 6 Avenue from 6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5 to 6 a.m. on Monday, August 18 due to utility work.

Westbound 130 Avenue S.E. will be closed between 52 Street S.E. and Copperpond Boulevard S.E. until Thursday, September 18 due to major utility work. The speed limit in the area will be reduced to 50 km/h. Residents are advised to use McIvor Boulevard S.E. to 52 Street S.E.

5 Street S.E. will be closed between 8 Avenue and 9 Avenue S.E. until August 17 for East Village construction.

There are various lane closures on 9 Avenue S.E. between 3 Street S.E. and 6 Street S.E. until the end of August. There are also various closures on 6 Street S.E. between 9 Avenue and 6 Avenue S.E. for East Village construction.

Southwest

NEW: There will be various lane closures on 17 Avenue S.W. between 24 Street S.W. and 33 Street S.W. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19 due to paving.

NEW: There will be various lane closures on Elbow Drive between 5 Street S.W. and 36 Avenue S.W. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily until Friday, August 22 due to paving.

NEW: 6 Avenue S.W. will be reduced to two lanes between 4 Street S.W. and 5 Street S.W. from 9 p.m. on Monday, August 18 to 5 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19 due to utility work. At the same time 5 Street S.W. will be reduced to two lanes at 6 Avenue S.W.

Extended: There will be various lane closures on westbound Glenmore Trail between 37 Street S.W. and Sarcee Trail from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. nightly beginning Tuesday, August 12 to Friday, August 22 due to maintenance work.

The left lane on 4 Avenue S.W. will be closed between 2 Street S.W. and 1 Street S.W. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily beginning Monday, August 18 until Friday, August 22 and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 23 due to building construction.

The left lane and sidewalk are closed on 11 Avenue S.W. between 11 Street S.W. and 12 Street S.W. until Tuesday, September 30 due to building construction.
