Calgary road closures and lane restrictions – April 3, 2017

Northeast

  • 11 Street N.E. is reduced to a single lane in each direction at 53 Avenue N.E. until Saturday, April 8 at 6 p.m. During this closure, there will be no access to Aviation Park N.E. via 53 Avenue N.E. This closure accommodates utility work.
  • Reduced lanes at 19 Street N.E. and 39 Avenue N.E. daily from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. beginning on Monday, April 3. This closure repeats daily during these hours until 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 14, excluding Sundays and accommodates utility replacement work.
  • Reduced lanes on westbound 32 Avenue N.E. at 32 Street N.E. daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning on Monday, April 3. This closure repeats daily during these hours until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12 and accommodates utility work.

Northwest

  • The intersection of Tuscany Way N.W. at Tuscany Valley Park N.W. will be closed and motorists will be detoured via signage in the area beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 3. This closure accommodates underground utility work for a future fire station project in the area. This closure remains in place until 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 9.
  • Reduced lanes on westbound 16 Avenue N.W. west of 14 Street N.W. daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning on Monday, April 3. During this closure, the speed limit will be reduced to 50 km/hr. through the construction zone. This closure continues daily during these hours until 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 13 and accommodates construction.
  • Stoney Trail/ Sarcee Trail Interchange Improvements
  • Daily lane reductions on Sarcee Trail N.W. and 16 Avenue N.W. through the project limits from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until further notice.
  • The right lane of westbound 16 Avenue N.W. is closed at Sarcee Trail N.W. daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning on Thursday, March 2. This closure repeats daily on weekdays until late April 2017.

Southeast

  • The Shepard Road access south of Glenmore is closed. There will be a new access created at 24 Street S.E. south of Glenmore Trail, west of the existing Shepard Road alignment. Traffic requiring to access Shepard Road south of Glenmore Trial will be detoured via the new 24 Street S.E. exit and then along 86 Avenue S.E. to reconnect with Shepard Road.

Southwest

  • Various lane closures at Sarcee Trail and Glenmore Trail S.W. due to an ongoing utility repair being conducted by Alberta Transportation. Motorists can expect delays in the area and are advised to use alternate routes.
  • Reduced lanes on 4 Street S.W. between 8 Avenue and 10 Avenue S.E. beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 3. This closure remains in place until 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4 and accommodates water services utility work. Expect delays in the area and use alternate routes when possible.
  • Riverfront Avenue S.W. will be closed between 1 Street and 2 Street S.W. beginning at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 29. During this closure, local only access will be maintained. This closure remains in place until 3 p.m. on Friday, April 7 and accommodates utility work. Use alternate routes.
  • The two right lanes of 6 Avenue S.W. are closed between 8 Street S.W. and 9 Street S.W. from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on weekdays beginning on Thursday, March 9. This closure continues daily on weekdays during these hours, and also on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. This closure accommodates utility work and continues until further notice.
  • 17 Avenue S. reconstruction project
    • Construction will begin at Macleod Trail the week of April 17, 2017 (weather dependent).

Alberta Transportation

  • Alberta Transportation maintains Deerfoot Trail (Hwy.2) and Stoney Trail (Hwy. 201). For more information on work happening on these roads visit Alberta Transportation’s website.

Southwest Ring Road Project
