Calgary Fire Departments extricates man from car wreck

At approximately 2:30 this morning the Calgary Fire Department was called to Northmount Drive and Brantford Drive NW for reports a motor vehicle collision.  Arriving fire crews found 3 damaged vehicles at the scene, a pickup truck, a taxi, and a 5 ton cube van. Fire crews searched the vehicles for occupants and discovered a male patient pinned inside the pickup truck. The occupants of the other 2 vehicles, two males, were unharmed and able to exit their vehicles prior to the fire departments arrival.  Fire crews utilized hydraulic rescue tools to free the man from the severely damaged vehicle.  The unresponsive patient was then turned over to waiting AHS crews for treatment and transport.  Police are on scene investigated.  The intersection of Northmount Drive and Brantford Drive is currently closed to traffic.
