Calgary Fire Department Responds to House Fire

At approximately 5 pm this afternoon the Calgary Fire Department responded to a house fire in 100 block of Christie Knoll Heights S.W. There were numerous calls to 911 to report the fire that was visible from a significant distance. Fire department personnel arrived to find a front drive attached garage fully involved in fire. The sole occupant of the house was alerted to the fire by a neighbour. Both houses on each side of the fire were evacuated as a precaution as fire crews brought the fire under control. There were no injuries reported although the damage to the involved garage and house was significant. CFD crews will be onsite overnight as the investigation into the cause of the fire is now underway.
