Calgary Fire department Responds to 2 Alarm House Fire in Citadel

At approximately 2 am this morning the Calgary Fire Department (CFD) responded to reports of a house fire on Citadel Estates Ht NW. Arriving crews found a large volume of smoke and flames coming from the front of a two story single family residence. A second alarm was struck to ensure adequate resources were available on scene.

Fire crews began an aggressive offensive attack and search of the home as well as protecting exposures. 7 occupants and a pet had self evacuated prior to CFD arrival and no injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported. The source home sustained significant damage and the exterior siding of a second home was affected.

CPS and AHS crews were on scene to assist.

Fire crews remain on scene checking for hot spots and extension. The CFD Fire Investigator is also on scene working to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
