CALGARY FIRE DEPARTMENT RESCUES OCCUPANT FROM VEHICLE IN BOW RIVER

At approximately 2:30 this afternoon, the Calgary Fire Department was dispatched to reports of a vehicle in the Bow River at Deerfoot Trail South at the south edge of the city limits. The Fire Department Aquatics rescue specialists arrived on scene to find an SUV on it’s side, in the middle of the Bow River. Aquatics team members removed one unconscious male occupant from the vehicle. The patient was immediately brought to shore and transferred to Alberta Health Services. Fire crews, including aquatic team members remained on scene to assist with the removal of the vehicle from the river.
