Calgary Fire Department quickly extinguishes a duplex fire in Bowness

At approximately 11:00 pm, the Calgary Fire Department responded to the 3000 block of 77th Street NW following reports of a house fire.

Upon arrival, crews found one half of a duplex with smoke and fire coming from the garage area which was below the suite. Crews immediately took hose lines into the garage and the second floor of the home and extinguished the fire. A search of the garage and home was conducted and no occupants were found. Occupants self evacuated the home after being alerted by working smoke alarms. The other side of the duplex was evacuated as a precaution.

There were no reports of any injuries as a result of the fire, investigators remain on scene to determine the cause of the fire.
