Calgary Fire Department fights house fire on St. Monica Ave S.E.

At approximately 11:05 this morning, fire crews were called to a house on St. Monica Avenue S.E. for reports of a fire. A neighbour in the community noticed smoke coming from the home and called 9-1-1. On arrival, fire crews encountered significant fire in the basement of the home which had extended to the main floor. 

Firefighters mounted an aggressive attack and brought the fire under control. Upon doing a thorough search of the residence, nobody was found inside and there were no injuries reported as a result of the fire. It is believed that the fore started in the basement however fire investigators are looking into the exact origin and cause of this fire.
