Calgary Fire Crews Respond To House Fire on Centre Street NE

At approximately 9:15 pm this evening, Calgary Fire Department (CFD) crews responded to reports of a house fire on Centre Street and 35th Avenue NE.

Upon arrival, fire crews faced significant smoke and flame from a single family home. Firefighters were able to effectively control the spread of flames and limited damage to the source home. No exposures were damaged.

Impacted residents self-evacuated from the home before CFD’s arrival. CPS assisted with traffic and crowd control at scene. Atco and Enmax were dispatched and ensured there were no hazards relating to services. AHS attended the incident and assessed one male patient on scene. No patients were transported to hospital.

The source home was significantly damaged and three occupants who are displaced at this time will require alternate accommodations.

Fire crews including a fire investigator will remain on scene throughout the evening to ensure there is no fire extension and to confirm extinguishment.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
