Calgary Fire Crews Quickly Extinguish Northwest Garage Fire

At approximately 4 am this morning, Calgary Fire Department (CFD) crews responded to reports of a structure fire. Callers reported seeing a huge orange glow coming from their neighbors’ backyard in the 6300 block of Travois Crescent NW.

When fire crews arrived on scene, they encountered a detached single vehicle garage with smoke and flames visible. Firefighters were quickly able to get the fire under control and prevent spread of the fire to any neighboring structures including the house on the same property. When firefighters completed a search of the building, they did not find any people or pets inside. The garage was filled with personal and household possessions but no vehicle was inside at the time of the fire.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. The garage sustained significant damage both to the structure and the contents. A Calgary Fire Department Investigator is on scene to determine the exact origin and cause of the fire.
