Calgary fire crews fight two alarm mobile home fire in Arbour Lake

Just before 3:00 this afternoon, 911 received a call from a neighbour in a mobile home park on Arbour Lake Road NW stating that there was a possible fire in a trailer nearby. Initial reports to 911 also indicated that male occupant had run out of his home saying that something exploded and started a fire in the trailer. When fire crews arrived smoke and flames were visible and the incident was upgraded to a second alarm.

Fire crews were able to quickly knock down the fire and prevent any damage to neighbouring residences.

The occupant of the home was found outside. He did sustain burns to his body and was transported to an area hospital by an Alberta Health Services EMS crew.

The fire is now under control and salvage and overhaul is being done by firefighters. There is significant damage to the trailer as a result of the fire and it is not known if there were working smoke alarms in the residence. No other injuries were reported as a result off this fire.

A fire investigator has been called to the incident to determine the origin and cause of this fire.
