Calgary fire crews fight southwest school fire and a kitchen fire in Erin Woods

Just before 5:00 this evening, 9-1-1 received multiple reports of flames visible on the roof of a school at the 800 block of Rideau Road S.W. When fire crews arrived on scene, they encountered visible flames and smoke coming from the roof of the building.

Fire crews quickly accessed the roof and extinguished the fire. There were no reported injuries as a result of this fire and no visible damage to the interior of the school.

There was construction occurring on the roof earlier in the day.  A  CFD fire investigator is looking into any connection between work being done on the roof and the cause of the fire. At this point the fire remains under investigation.
