Calgary fire crews fight house fire in Sunnyside

At approximately 12:45 this afternoon, 911 received a call for a possible house fire at the 300 block of 9A Street N.W. The caller could see smoke coming from the eaves of the house which was supposed to be unoccupied. Windows and doors had been boarded up to prevent trespassing.

When fire crews arrived, heavy smoke was coming from the roof of the building. Firefighters quickly gained entry by cutting the boards to the doors and windows. Fire crews successfully brought the fire under control and after a thorough search, determined that there was nobody inside. 

A neighbouring building was temporarily evacuated for safety precautions however sustained no fire damage. No injuries were reported as a result of this fire.
