Calgary Fire Crews Fight Late Afternoon Garage Fire In Glendale
Just before 6:00 pm on Sunday July 20th , Calgary Fire Department (CFD) responded to a fully involved
detached garage fire at the 4900 block of 17 Avenue S.W. On arrival firefighters had flames and heavy
volumes of smoke showing from a double car detached garage. The crews were able to get a quick knock
down and limit the majority of the damage to the source garage. A neighboring garage had minor siding
damage.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire to residents or firefighters, there were no pets involved
in this incident. The family was able to self-evacuate from the house.
There was one vehicle inside the source garage that sustained heat and smoke damage. Crews remain
on scene with the investigator to determine the cause of the fire.
