Calgary fire crews extricate driver from semi versus train collision

At approximately 1:45 this afternoon, Calgary fire crews were called to 54th Avenue and 30th Street SE for a serious collision between a semi trailer and a train. On arrival, firefighters discovered that the driver's leg was trapped under the right windshield post. Fire crews used hydraulic extrication tools to free the man and transfer his care to waiting AHS personnel. He was conscious and alert throughout the extrication process. No other injuries were reported and Calgary Police Service investigators are on scene to determine the cause of this collision.
