Bank Robbery Investigation

The Calgary Police Service Economic Crimes Unit is currently investigating a bank robbery that occurred this morning in the city’s northeast.

At approximately 10:10 a.m., Monday, March 6, 2017, a man entered the Scotiabank in the 900 block of 1 Avenue N.E. He approached the teller with a hammer and made verbal demands for money while placing a bag on the counter. The man left with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was injured as a result of the robbery.

The man is described as Caucasian, approximately 45 years old, 5’6” tall, with a stocky build and hazel eyes. He was wearing a black jacket with white lettering, dark pants, a black balaclava, black and red gloves and was carrying a black duffel bag.
