Attempted sexual assault

The Calgary Police Service is investigating an attempted sexual assault that took place last night.

At approximately 10:45 p.m., on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, a woman disembarked a bus near the intersection of Sandstone Drive N.W. and Berkshire Boulevard N.W. An unknown man approached the woman and began speaking with her. She attempted to leave at which point the man began to assault her. He forced the woman to the ground where he attempted to sexually assault her.

An approaching bus caused the man to flee. The bus driver contacted 9-1-1 and waited with the victim, who was taken to hospital in stable condition.

It is believed this was a random attack.

The man is described as Caucasian, between 18 and 20 years old, roughly 5’10” tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black baseball cap, a grey hooded sweatshirt, and blue jeans.
