2017 Chief's Awards Gala

The Calgary Police Service 2017 Chief’s Awards Gala will take place tonight, Thursday, June 8, 2017, to honour citizens along with sworn and civilian members of the Service who performed exemplary acts of courage and commitment to their community.

Chief Constable Roger Chaffin will be presenting awards to one community organization, 13 citizens, two CPS civilian members and 36 sworn CPS members at the Gala.

Citizen recipient stories range from tracking down car thieves, saving the lives of people experiencing mental health crisis, and helping better the lives of people in our community through volunteer efforts. CPS sworn member stories vary from saving the lives of victims of stabbings, attempted murders and commitment to investigative excellence. The civilian members of the CPS are being acknowledged for their work in going above and beyond their daily duties to serve the citizens of Calgary.

All of the award recipients have exceeded expectations to assist those in need and make Calgary a stronger community.
